Full-game playtime and reasons to return

ANOMALITH took approximately 16–20 hours in a Noisy Pixel reviewer's playthrough, while the producer estimates more than 30 hours for the main scenario together with side missions and investigation reports. You can revisit earlier areas for missed items and try upgraded equipment, and some special equipment becomes available after story completion.

How side missions and collection add time

Side missions reveal more about the supporting cast's backgrounds and relationships. If the characters are your main interest, include those missions in your playthrough plan. They give you additional story material beyond following the main objectives.

Dive Reports contain information about defeated Anomalies and unusual environments. Defeating Anomalies lets you view reports about their ecology, adding reading and investigation to the time you spend fighting. Allow room for those entries if understanding the Anomaly Zones is part of what you want from the game.

Equipment collection adds time through searches for missed items and materials for further Workshop upgrades. Retrieved Anomalous Objects support weapon and gear development, while Artifacts can improve your stats. If you enjoy refining a loadout, those systems give your extra exploration a purpose.

Choose your optional goals according to what you enjoy: character stories, report reading or equipment development. You can use those interests to decide when a detour is worthwhile. Avoid treating every collection goal as something you must finish before moving the story forward.

Work optional goals into your playthrough

  1. Check the board in the Workshop at Base for side missions; the available requests give you a way into additional character stories.
  2. Advance the main missions if the side request you want is not available; the board's available requests change with your progress.
  3. Read the Dive Reports unlocked by defeating Anomalies; they expand your understanding of the creatures you encounter.
  4. Revisit earlier areas when searching for missed items becomes your next goal; return visits also let you put upgraded equipment to use.
  5. Use retrieved Anomalous Objects for weapon and gear development at the Workshop; your collection efforts feed into further equipment upgrades.
